Our History

Ozark Import Specialists had its meager beginnings in 1975 when the Vining family started a small Volkwagen repair shop to fill a void in the still small regional area of Northwest Arkansas. The land surrounding us back then was just empty fields. Times were relatively simple in those days and we started off working on the aircooled engines of Volkswagens such as Bugs, Buses, Squareback, and Notchbacks that our local University of Arkansas students were driving. Whatever it took to to fill the need for our local community and the nearby University of Arkansas students.

As time flew by the needs of our local neighbors changed and evolved, like they always do, and we began to train and adapt into other European brands such as Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen water cooled vehicles, Volvos and just about anything we could get the tools and training for. Things have changed, of course, over the last 50 years, and now we work on the modern vehicles adopted by our neighbors here in Springdale and the Northwest Arkansas region.
