Repair your current vehicle or buy a new one?
Customers sometimes face that question when a European vehicle needs a significant repair. A new vehicle can feel easier to compare by looking only at the monthly payment, but the real financial picture can also include interest, sales tax, depreciation and maintenance.
This calculator provides an illustrative estimate of those costs so you can compare them with the expense of keeping your current vehicle. It is a planning tool, not financial, tax or lending advice, and it does not predict the future resale value or repair needs of any vehicle.
How the estimate works
What the calculator is measuring
Depreciation: The estimate reduces the remaining vehicle value by the selected percentage each year, so depreciation compounds rather than applying the same dollar amount every year.
Maintenance: Choose a percentage of the vehicle price or enter a custom annual amount. Actual maintenance and repair costs vary substantially by vehicle, mileage, use and condition.
Total: The displayed total follows the comparison approach used by Ozark Import Specialists' original calculator by combining vehicle price, estimated interest, tax, depreciation and maintenance. Use the individual line items—not only the final number—when making your own decision.
