Rogers had 17,429 residents in the 1980 U.S. Census; by 2020 the population was 69,908. That change mirrors the larger transformation of Northwest Arkansas during the same period.
The city itself was founded around a Frisco railroad stop and became an apple-shipping and rural trade center. Over time, industry, retail and regional growth reshaped Rogers.
